Soft/light
Soft/Light is a combination of a lamp and a cup. Together, or apart, they make life a little softer. They are playful in form and soft in nature. Soft/Light is about their relationship with one another, the mood they set, and the memories they create. It is a project based on the need for comfort in the items around us and the control we can take through inanimate objects.
Made out of porcelain, the light illuminated inside casts a warm glow through its soft and organic form.
A 3D-printed PLA holder houses the electronics inside the lamp. An E26 socket bulb base with a fabric cord sits inside this socket holder. The PLA cylinder has two half-circle keys on the outside base. Using a lock and key mechanism, the socket holder twists into the lamp's base for a flat fit. The brim at the bottom of the socket holder keeps the two snug together.
